La Plagne is a wide, beautiful French ski resort, where you often feel like you are on top of the world!  This is a great resort for families and groups alike, with multiple villages to stay in from Plagne Centre, Plagne 1800, Belle Plagne, Plagne Solei, Plagne Aime 2000, Champagney en Vanoise as well as the smaller cute resorts of Les Coches, Montchavin and Montalbert.

Skiing in La Plagne

La PLagne is a lovely resort for families because of its wide pistes and array of different level slopes covering beginners to expert skiers and snowboarders.  La Plagne has 225 kilometres of slopes  as well as a large off piste skiing area which includes the Bellecôte's North Face, where you can ski down from La Plagne in to the beautiful Vanoise National Park and Nancroix, your return trip is easy with a quick bus ride then a trip on the Vanoise Express from Vallandry to Les Coches.

La Plagne offers the lovely village of Montchavin at 1250m and offers you access right to the top of the Glacier de la Chiaupe near the top of the Bellecôte at 3250m, so you wont get bored exploring this ski playground.

Beginner skiing in La Plagne:

La Plagne and its surrounding resorts offer 10 green beginner slopes with a real mix from wide open pistes to small  simple tree lined areas in Les Coches a great base for you and your family.

Intermediate skiing in La Plagne:

You have access to the whole resort with 72 blue runs and 30 red! Ski from La Plagne Bellcote to Montchavin offering a complete change of scenery and skiing for you and your group.

Expert skiing in La Plagne:

With 15 black pistes and a array of off-piste skiing including the North face of the Bellcote, this is a great place to ski off piste, even if the rest of your group want to stay firmly on the piste!

The closest airport to La Plagne


As mentioned before Chambery airport is the closest airport to all our popular French ski resorts, taking approximately 1hr 45 mins right to the top of La Plagne ski resort. However this is also the airport with the least number of arrivals and departures and it can get extremely busy in the winter ski season. The route is direct on the motorway from Chambery and you will quickly see the rising Tarentaise mountain terrain as you travel along the N90 before heading up the resort road.

Geneva airport to La Plagne

Geneva airport has the largest choice of flights to and from the UK on a daily basis.

You'll find lots of flight options from the following airlines Easyjet, British Airways and Swiss Air.

Whiterides provide Geneva airport ski transfers to La Plagne for Skiing in the winter and outdoor activity's in the summer. Transfer time to La Plagne is approximately 2hrs 30mins and 180km.

On route to La Plagne you'll pass through the stunning town on Annecy and enjoy a scenic drive along the shores of Lac d'Annecy, then onto Albertville the host town of the 1992 winter Olympics before heading up to resort.

Grenoble airport to La Plagne

Grenoble-Isère Airport situated approximately 30 mins from Grenoble city has a great choice of flight to and from the UK.

Airlines such as Ryanair, Jet2, Easyjet, Monarch Air and British Airways offer regularly flight to and from the UK.

Whiterides provide Grenoble airprot ski transfers to La Plagne through out the year for Skiing in the winter and Mountain Biking in the summer.

Journey time to La Plagne from Grenoble airport is just over 2hrs 30mins and 200km, the route is mainly via motorway and dual carriage way until Moutiers. At the turn off to Aime, just 10 minutes after Moutiers you will drive up the mountain road to La Plagne.

Eurostar snow train to La Plagne

Consider the new Eurostar route direct from London to Lyon Part-Dieu central train station where a Whiterides driver can easily pick up from.  Or stay on the train and get off at Aime then it's just a 30 min transfer up to the French ski resort of La Plagne.  And don't worry if you end up in Bourg Saint Maurice train station as its just a 10 minute drive on from Aime so we always pick you up here too.

Direct day trains to the French Alps are run on Saturdays between December-April and direct night trains run on Fridays from January-April.

Lyon airport to La Plagne

Lyon airport also know as Saint Exupery on the outskirts on Lyon, Frances 3rd largest city. You will find a great choice of flight options to and from the UK and Lyon.

The Main 2 airline which operate flights to and from Lyon are Easyjet and British Airways.

Whiterides offfer Lyon airport ski transfers to La Plagne any time and day of the week through out the year.  With a transfer time of just over 2hrs 30mins  and approximately 190km you will be in resort in no time at all.

The route to La Plagne is motorway the majority of the way to Aime and then the climb up the mountain to La Plagne starts from there, so sit back in one of comfortable 8 passengers seat minibuses and let us take you directly to La Plagne.

Chambery airport to La Plagne

Chambery airport is the closest airport to La Plagne although not as big as the other airports still a great choice to fly to with several airlines offer weekly flights to and from the UK.

Airlines that provide flights into Chambery airport are Jet2, Flybe and British airways.

Whiterides offer Chambery airport ski transfers to La Plagne through out the year, all though most flights take place during the winter months.

With a journey time of 1hr 30mins and 140km Whiterides will have you up in resort in no time at all. The route is mainly direct via motorway to Aime followed by a short ride up the mountain to La Plagne.
